Hornby are planning to weave their magic on the class 56. An already good model in my opinion, especially for the money has been retooled to take it to the next level. Hornby have confirmed it will have twin bogie drive and will be dcc fitted. I can also assume it will have directional lighting, pickups on all wheels and NEM coupling as well as improved detailing.

 

It will come as no surprise that Hornby are to release a class 66 after releasing the exlima tooled class 59. I can only assume it will be based on the lima tooling that Hornby acquired. The Model comes DCC Ready and will be going head to head with the very impressive Bachmann class 66. Bachman recently released a version of the class 66 with a built in sound decoder. It was the first British outline ready to run locomotive with factory fitted sound (32-725DS) and is fitted with a 21 pin sound decoder.

 

Most of Hornbys 2007 Diesel releases are exlima tooled models. Hornby are clearly trying to make full use about of the lima tooling which they acquired when they purchased the Lima model brand.

 

All the 2007 locomotive range is either DCC ready of DCC fitted showing Hornbys enthusiasm for the technology in which they have only just released there first products.
